About

Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 3932 S. 2300 E. in Holladay Cottonwood, Utah. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy.

If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged 18+, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.

The staff members at Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.

Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.

Getting treatment is the best option when seeking a life that is free of substance abuse. Get the help required now and start living the best life possible. Contact Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy by visiting www.MonkWise.com now.

This review is specifically for Janet, the Tai Chi instructor. Janet came out to our family home and gave us a private Tai Chi lesson, including some history, basic movements, weapon forms and a little demonstration of what a complete series looks like. It was WONDERFUL. She was knowledgeable, professional and made it fun. I would highly recommend her.

I've been with the academy since it first opened and wouldn't trade the experience for anything else. Regardless of how serious you take the training, the instructors will work with you on all levels with great patience. All anyone needs to get started is an open mind and courage within themselves.

Traditional instruction from sifu's with an established school lineage from China and Tiawan. Several styles. Multiple weapons. Meditation. Internal and external arts. Southern and northern styles. After years at other studios, I have never seen such depth of material taught by such skilled, patient, and masterful instructors.

If you have never considered a martial art, let me suggest here to be your starting place. Kung Fu and Tai Chi offer an excellent form of exercise that covers everything: strength training, flexibility, and awesome weapons. That in and of itself is amazing, but go deeper, open up more and you will be awe struck by the discoveries you make inside yourself. I found the best me yet; a me that I have never known. If you allow it, if you seek it, if you work for it the principles and philosophies Kung Fu is founded on will take you beyond your expectations and show you a world of possibilities. This studio, these people, Kung Fu has changed my life. -Breelyn Morris

I've been at monkwise for about a year and a half now. My experience here has been fantastic, the stuff you learn in your curriculum is great and everyone there is super friendly and helpful. The events happen are awesome too, with moon festival, summer retreats and Chinese new year celebration to name a few, the experiences you have are ones you'll remember forever. Both Shifus are amazing too, they have tons of experience and are great teachers!

One of the best things I could have ever done for myself was starting Kung Fu at Monk Wise two years ago. Since starting here I have improved my health (weight and overall), confidence and balance, making friends at the same time. The Shifus and Instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive – taking the time to make sure information is completely understood by everyone. I enjoy the material we cover, particularly the weapons training, and forms –even liking Tai Chi! The times for classes work well and by going here, I also have the option to attend classes at their other location on Redwood Road – including the three hour combined training on Saturdays, something that sounds daunting but leaves me feeling accomplished.

I have to agree with Nate, Monk Wise is a great place to mingle have fun while exercising. The material is most certainly incredible. It's honestly what I've been looking for when I searched for true kung fu school. American Kempo is NOT kung fu. Have a look for yourself, if you are like me searching for an authentic chinese martial arts that will teach the history, background and application of Gong fu (kung fu), you will find it there.
